Are you thinking cupcakes?

Are you thinking cupcakes instead of a traditional wedding cake? Well if you are... keep thinking! They're fun, unique, and very scrumptious! Cupcakes enable you to have several different flavors of cake with fun decorations on each one. A cupcake [cake] can be designed to look like a traditional wedding cake with a small cake on top for you and your groom to cut. Cupcake cakes range in price from $2 per person up to $6 per person depending on decoration. Oh, and don't forget the always wonderful Petit Fours starting around $4 per person. Can't decide? Desert bars and candy bars are always fun and yummy options to consider. Cute little guy holding the platter not included.

As always, we are having cake samples throughout the day on Saturday. Come see us.

I am not always great about noting who takes the pictures that I post on our blog. I get them from all different source. We have lots of wonderful photographers and the not so great pictures... I probably took. This picture was taken by ....Reeves Photography.

Fun new items

Reeves Photography took this picture and I just love it!!! What a fun picture. For those of you who still need a photographer, check out their web page http://www.reevesphoto.com/. They do both video and photography so it nice to deal with only one company when you want both. Call Cindy and tell her Kathy from Thee Wedding Warehouse sent you.... 602-622-2622.

I unpacked boxes all day today because we got lots of fun new stuff. Come check it out. The Bel Aire Bridal line just came in. Wow... no one else has these styles. We also got in new bridesmaids and groomsman's gifts.

Like always we will have a cake tasting this weekend. This week Custom Cakes by Elizabeth will be provided the samples... Yum Yum. Her cake is so moist. Girls this is something fun the guys can do with you.....

The 10 Best Ways to Cut Costs, by Mindy Weiss

Books and more books.... but Mindy Weiss wrote The Wedding Book and page 27 talks about the Ten Best Ways to Cut Costs!

1. Trim the guest list. Your cost per head is your biggest expense.

2. Choose a gorgeous setting, whether it's a conservatory or a ballroom. You'll save a bundle on decorations.

3. Skip the off-site location and go with a reception site ( a hotel, club, or restaurant) that comes with tables, chairs, flatware, and staff. Tents and other rentals add up to a substantial expense.

4. Start the wedding earlier in the day. Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, or heavy hors d'oeuvers cost less than dinner, and earlier in the day, people drink less, lowing your liquor costs.

5. Limit the alcoholic offerings to wine, beer, and a signature cocktail. Also consider sangria or punch as a festive but cost-effective alternative to mixed drinks.

6. Move the wedding from Saturday to Sunday; if you need to bring down the price even more, move it to a weekday.

7. Eliminate the champagne toast. Most of the bubbly will be thrown out anyway. Have guests toast with whatever they're drinking at the time.

8. Instead of a band, hire a great DJ.

9. Opt for an inexpensive printing method of your invitations. Use designs cleverly and you can get a great effect with offset printing, for a fraction of the price of letterpress or engraving.

10. Skip favors. Write a personal note instead.

Create the perfect look....

If you have a vision, we can help make it a reality! The menus and table name cards shown here were done by Kim McDowell of The Event Essentials. Always a nice touch. Napkins can be put in napkin holders as seen in this picture (we have lots of styles) or folded several different ways. Best advise about napkins...don't put them in the glasses. It takes away from the the centerpiece.

Don't forget to come see us this weekend...I am keeping the email contest going today. So the next five people that email me get a free gift card mailed to them. If you are coming to the show... let me know and I will put a special gift in your bridal bag!
